Domènec Torrent has not had the dream debut at the helm of Galatasaray. The Catalan coach officially took over the reins of the team on Friday and today he was unable to avoid the defeat against Hatayspor in the Turkish Super League match (4-2).
Galatasaray started the Torrent era well when Emre Kilinc opened the scoring in the 23rd minute. Then Patrick van Aanholt made it 0-2 but wasted a penalty (26′).
Shortly before the break (43′), Mame Biram Diouf did convert his penalty and make it 1-1. But before the first half was over, Galatasaray took the lead again thanks to Kerem Akturkoglu’s goal in the eighth minute of stoppage time.
After the break, Hatayspor leveled again through Mohammed Kamara (62′) and turned the score around with a goal from Saba Lobzhanidze (79′).
The red to Taylan Antalyali in the 82nd minute finished off Galatasaray, who conceded 4-2 in stoppage time with Lobzhanidze’s second goal.
