However, as Djokovic defends only 90 (half of the 180 in 2019) and Medvedev 360 at the US Open, The Balkan has many options to end the year again as leader of the ranking as soon as he adds there and in the ATP Finals.
Behind them, there are changes. Nadal remains number three at 3,843 points behind the British Grand Slam champion. But Alexander Zverev overtakes Dominic Thiem and takes fifth. Matteo Berrettini, despite the defeat, is eighth ahead of Roger Federer, the best position of his career. And Denis Shapovalov returns to the top-10 to the detriment of Roberto Bautista, who is 14th.
