Stole Dimitrievski, 27, is immersed in a dream. The goalkeeper is at the gates of the North Macedonia premiere in a European Championship, a source of pride for Angelovski's men and of great illusion for an entire country. That tremendous desire will be the engine of a selection, with familiar faces and without more limits than where the legs and the heart take you. Before leaving for the rally, Dimi attended AS in the presentation of the Rayo Majadahonda goalkeeping school and stressed that the distance will not separate you either from the Strip and that end due to the ascent. Tomorrow Sunday, he will first play Austria (National Arena in Bucharest, 6:00 p.m.) and then he will follow his Rayo (Vallecas, 9:00 p.m.). Without a doubt, an unforgettable day …
—How do you live these moments prior to the Eurocup?
—With great enthusiasm, feeling an enormous responsibility to defend our country in an appointment like this. I am very focused and full of joy.
—It's something historic for North Macedonia, do you notice the country especially excited?
—Family, friends, colleagues, journalists themselves… We have never experienced this and we feel a whole country behind us. We are privileged and it fills us with pride.
– How is football lived there in your country?
—We may be a small sports team, a young country, but football is very important here. We started to have a tradition of training good players. Pandev has been scoring goals all his life in Italy. In addition, in this call there are three footballers who play in LaLiga: Bardhi (Levante), Trajkovski (Mallorca) and I (Rayo), who am already half Spanish (laughs). We keep growing.
– What is the objective of your selection?
—I think that, from the responsibility of playing, it is important that we enjoy ourselves to the maximum. We do not set limits. We want to compete against the best.
“What about your best weapons?” What are the strengths of Macedonia?
“The team, the group, the whole.” And have a pending and united country pushing behind.
—One of the great architects of Macedonia's success is its coach Angelovski. What is it like and what is your proposal?
“The Mister is very big, he has guided us here.” He has understood us very well and we understand him. There is a lot of tuning. It makes us feel like we can do great things together.
How do you see your first rival: Austria?
—We are going to play with such enthusiasm that the rival does not matter. We are aware that all matches are going to be difficult. So we have to think of ourselves.
– Which team do you see stronger to win the Euro?
—I don't see any in particular, although France is always the favorite for being the current world champion.
—You play in LaLiga, do you see Spain with possibilities?
—Spain is reinventing itself. That generation is very difficult to repeat, but the young people will come eagerly. But let no one rule her out because she is the inventor of a style of play. And that makes him invincible.
“Tell me about the Lightning … How do you see it?” This slope?
-Of course. I am permanently in contact with my colleagues. Very happy that the team continues to fight and fight.
“Do you trust the promotion?”
“I trust that the greatest and best can always be expected from Rayo.”
—Now that the public has returned to the stadiums for the playoff, how important is the public in Vallecas?
—The public in football is almost everything. It is very difficult for players to play without our fans. We are looking forward to feeling the atmosphere again and for everything to return to normal. Soccer belongs to the people. The players are privileged, but we are passing through. The fans remain, remain faithful. Do you think I'm not a fan? I have screamed in a field like any other. Before being a goalkeeper I was a fan. And that is something that I will never cease to be …
