PARIS, Aug. 8 (by EUROPA PRESS special correspondent Gaspar Díez) –
The duo formed by Diego Domínguez and Joan Antoni Moreno won the bronze medal in the C2 500-metre event of canoeing at the Paris Olympic Games on Thursday, while the women’s K4 500 event fell short of the podium.
The Spanish pair had a great final stretch to secure, with some suspense, third place and the twelfth medal for the Spanish delegation in the event, the second in canoeing after Pau Echaniz’s bronze in the slalom event.
Shortly afterwards, there was no further joy as the K4 500 formed by Sara Ouzande, Estefanía Fernández, Carolina García and Teresa Portela was unable to fight for the medals and finished in sixth position.
