“Depression? It all started with Mourinho when he was manager of United…”

Paul Pogba continues without giving clues about his future. The midfielder has conceded a interview with Le Figaro in which he has not been able to guarantee his continuity at Manchester United. Teams like PSG are interested in getting his services in June and the French international has not wanted to admit whether or not he will continue in Manchester from next season.

“I know my role, I feel I can play in my position. I know what my role is, I feel the confidence of the coach and the players. It is normal to feel this difference with Manchester, because it is difficult to be regular when you often change position, game system or partner in the middle (…) But we get along very well with the coach, he has given me a role I know, but at Manchester United, do I really have a role? I ask the question and I don’t have the answer.” Pogba recognized Le Figaro.

Another of the triggers in the non-renewal of the former Juventus player is, without a doubt, the absence of titles. In the interview, Pogba assured that this lack of ambition could lead him to leave United in the coming months: “I have to be honest, I am not satisfied with the last five seasons, but I’m really not. This year is already dead, we will not win anything again. I want to win trophies, either with Manchester or with another team.”

In addition, the midfielder acknowledged that he had several episodes of depression at United: “On a personal level, I’ve had depression in my career, but I don’t talk about it much. It all started with Mourinho when he was manager of Manchester. You wonder if you are to blame, because you have never experienced those moments in your life. Sometimes we don’t know what it is. They simply make us want to isolate ourselves, to be alone and those signs are undeniable.”
