Dembélé has a left thigh injury and aims to be out for four weeks

MADRID, 28 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

FC Barcelona striker Ousmane Dembélé will be out for the next few weeks after confirming a muscle injury in the rectus femoris of the left thigh, suffered this Saturday in the duel against Girona on matchday 19 of LaLiga Santander.

“The tests carried out this afternoon on the first team player Ousmane Dembélé have shown that he is suffering from an injury to the rectus femoris of the left thigh. It is low and the evolution will mark his availability”, announced the culé team shortly after the game.

The Frenchman had to be replaced by Xavi Hernández in the 26th minute of Montilivi, for a Pedri who would score the winning goal in the second half (0-1). Dembélé, who was enjoying his best moment in six seasons at Barça, suffered the setback of a new injury, his greatest enemy.

The French winger has played a total of 27 games, scoring six goals and distributing up to seven assists, being one of the players most used by Xavi. The Barca coach did not hide that Dembélé’s loss could be for several weeks, his player “more differential in one against one”.

The blaugrana team, leader of the League, has on its upcoming calendar the matches against Betis, Sevilla, Villarreal and Manchester United in the first leg of the round of 32 of the Europa League. On February 23, Barça will play the second leg at Old Trafford.
