Davidovich falls in his Indian Wells debut and loses important points

MADRID, 9 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Alejandro Davidovich could not (6-3, 6-4) this Saturday against the Frenchman Arthur Fils in his debut in the Indian Wells tournament, the first Masters 1,000 of the season where last year he reached the quarterfinals, thus that will lose good points in the world ranking.

‘Foki’ did not have a single ‘break’ option throughout the match, an even match but in which he did not know how to put one more gear in order to fight for victory. The man from Malaga, who does not finish taking off in 2024, found himself out of combat in the Californian desert in the second round, when he was defending the 2023 finals.

Davidovich saved two breaking balls in his first game with the serve and kept the exchange going until in the eighth game he conceded the break with which Fils took the lead. The Frenchman continued to be very reliable with his game in the second set and, with another break in the fifth game, he achieved the advantage that gave him the victory.

As in the Shanghai Masters 1,000 last year, the man from Malaga once again lost to the French tennis player, who tied the duels between them (2-2). A Davidovich who could fall several places in the ATP world ranking, even endangering the Top 30.
