David López, near Betis

David López is already half blue and white and green. The midfielder and one of Espanyol's captains has negotiations with Betis Advanced, a club that knows him perfectly because he already tried to sign him for the 2016-17 season. In fact, coming from Naples, he came to pass the medical check-up with the Betico club just when Espanyol meddled in the operation and finally took over the services of Sant Cugat, who has remained for four years.

David López, who renewed in the summer of 2018, is one of the five highest salaries in Espanyol. At 30 years old (31 in October), the midfielder knows that this may be his last professional contract at a good level, and that staying at the parrot club is a utopia considering the imperious lowering of the salary limit. Betis, which has not qualified for Europe and which must also face an austere market, sees David López as a complementary reinforcement and one that is perfectly adapted to his expectations. A player who can act as central or midfielder, two demarcations in which this year the Andalusians have been somewhat lame.

The cost of the transfer would be minimal considering the market and the need for Espanyol. David López was bought by Espanyol from Huesca for 250,000 euros in 2013. Former technical secretary Óscar Perarnau exercised that option before it expired. A year later, he was transferred to Naples for 5.5 million, and recalled for four in 2016. Now, his transfer would be below those figures.
