MADRID, 19 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Villarreal continues making merits to access the ‘Champions’ positions after beating Granada (1-4) this Saturday, in a match played at the Nuevo Los Cármenes, corresponding to matchday 25 of the Santander League, which allows Unai Emery’s men continued in the gap, while Getafe took a hard-fought point in their visit to a Cádiz (1-1) that deserved better luck.
In Granada, the ‘Yellow Submarine’ entrusted themselves to Arnaut Danjuma’s success to continue in the fight with FC Barcelona to snatch fourth place from Atlético, who did not fail at El Sadar hours before. The team from Castellón was better than their rival, but apparently took an excessive score on the pitch.
Danjuma, author of a ‘hat-trick’, was the first to open fire with a penalty in the 35th minute. A maximum penalty that had a crumb after Uzuni was expelled and ended up pardoned thanks to the VAR. His action, slight in the grab inside the area, remained yellow. Villarreal’s Dutch striker didn’t miss out on the gift to put his team ahead.
The second also carried the signature of Danjuma, who was the smartest into space in an indecision by the Nasrid center-backs. His pause was decisive in definitively unbalancing the game despite the eagerness of the locals, who closed the gap with another penalty. On this occasion it was Luis Milla who was in charge of launching it and transforming it after kissing the stick.
Before, Luis Suárez had a clear hand in hand but again the forcefulness of Villarreal put the lock on the game. Danjuma, with another penalty, and Moi Gómez -with suspense due to a possible offside- sentenced a Granada that will continue to be close to burning. Those of Robert Moreno have four points of rent on the descent.

For their part, Cádiz and Getafe shared the points (1-1) in a match that began with an early penalty by Álvaro Negredo. The VAR agreed with the azulones and Borja Mayoral did not fail from 11 meters. The goal gave the people of Madrid a boost, who took time to notice their opponent’s reaction.
Sergio González’s men gained prominence with the goal against and looked more aggressively for David Soria’s goal. On the verge of half-time, Negredo redeemed himself from the penalty with a goal that made the yellow team dream. However, in the second half, no matter how hard the Andalusian team tried, there was no way to change the score.
First it was Lucas Pérez with a direct free kick that crashed into the crossbar -at match time- and minutes later it was Luis Hernández who tried his luck with a rebound that went high. The locals pressed with everything but Getafe, in a great dynamic of results, resisted and could even have changed their luck against one with two chances from Sandro Ramírez.
Quique Sánchez Flores’s pupils, who have taken 8 of the last 15 points, remain in fifteenth position with a six-point advantage over Cádiz, which precisely marks the relegation zone to the SmartBank League.
