Daniel Sancho rejects his new Thai lawyer: “He doesn’t want to see me”

Is called Grit Sudthanom and he is the new lawyer assigned by the Thai Prosecutor’s Office to defend Daniel Sancho in the judicial process that is about to begin. He relieves the first lawyer, Khun Ananwho resigned from the position due to disagreements with the Spanish defense of the accused, Marcos García Montes. This one doesn’t have it easy either: “I can go see him in jail but he doesn’t want to for now, he remains silent.”

Grit Sudthanom has shown its bewilderment at the attitude of Rodolfo Sancho’s son, accused of premeditated murder and concealment of a corpse: “I suppose it’s a strategy of their Spanish defense, but they don’t want to see me”, he said in Cuatro. He has also not been able to speak with his father, Rodolfo Sancho: “I have done so with his assistant and he tells me that he is calm and well.”

The lawyer has also revealed something unknown until now: “Daniel has tried to pay bail twice to get out of jail on provisional release, but his request has been denied”. The Prosecutor’s Office argues that there is a “danger of flight” and even that Daniel “attempts to manipulate witnesses.” Therefore, the accused will have to remain in Koh Samui prison until the start of the trial. On November 13 he will be transferred to Court, where all the charges will be read to him and the judge will set a date for the start of the procedure.

His trial in Spain is canceled

We must remember that Daniel has another pending procedure in Spain for an alleged crime of injuries. A first hearing was held via videoconference and the trial was set for November 7. However, the Thai Prosecutor’s Office has informed the Criminal Court number 16 of Madrid that the videoconference cannot be carried out that day, so the Superior Court of Justice has suspended the trial until further notice.
