Under-21 international Dani Martín, Real Betis goalkeeper, underwent surgery this Friday for an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, in the second intervention he undergoes in four months after he went through the operating room for a right ankle condition.
“Dani Martín has undergone a successful surgery this Friday for his injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The goalkeeper will now begin the recovery process in Gijón to later carry out rehabilitation work with the club's medical services, ”Betis reported in a statement.
The Betic goalkeeper, who has undergone surgery in his hometown, Gijón, remains unpublished this season due to injuries and was operated on four months ago, on September 3, for a problem in his right ankle suffered during training in a concentration with the Spanish under-21 team.
The transfer of the young Asturian goalkeeper to another club was frustrated by the ankle ailment he suffered with the U21 national team and from which, after undergoing surgery, he received medical discharge on 18 November.
Dani Martín, who could not do the preseason with the Verdiblanca squad, recovered from said intervention and came to enter a call for Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini, although at the end of December he injured his right knee during training.
The Asturian, signed to Sporting two summers ago, only played six games with Betis last season, four in the League and two in the Copa del Rey, and is currently the third goalkeeper after Chilean Claudio Bravo and Joel Robles.
