Dani Jimenez, Sevillian goalkeeper of Alcorcón, declared this Wednesday that the arrival on the bench Juan Antonio Anquela, after the dismissal of Mere beautiful, is a “pretty good change” for the potter club, which is bottom of Second.
Last week, after chaining eight consecutive defeats, Mere Hermoso was dismissed as Alcorcón coach. His successor is Anquela, who debuted with a defeat against Leganés.
“Anquela awakens intensity, passion and feeling about the club. It is a pretty good change and we hope it will be seen with results,” said Dani Jiménez, who is in his sixth season at Alcorcón.
The next day Alcorcón receives in Santo Domingo Lugo, sixth classified. The game is vital for the Madrid team, who need to win to stop the negative streak.
“You have to be fierce at the back, not grant any chance and from there create more offensive opportunities to have a positive result,” confessed Jiménez, who was awarded the Alcorcón Five Star Player of the month award.
Finally, the Sevillian goalkeeper, one of the team captains, sent a message to the pottery fans.
“The situation is difficult, but I would tell the fans to be patient. We do everything possible to reverse the situation and now the only way to get results is to have confidence,” he concluded.
