The Dutch defender Daley Blind has terminated his contract, which ended on June 30, 2023, with Ajax Amsterdam after reaching an agreement with the club, as reported by the entity in a statement issued on Tuesday.
“Ajax and Daley Blind have terminated their contract. The defender’s contract expired on June 30, 2023, but will now end on December 31, 2022,” the team announced.
Blind, 32, has been trained in the Ajax youth system since he was 8 years old. He made his first-team debut in 2008, and after that season went on loan to FC Groningen. He then enjoyed another two stages at the Amsterdam club (2010-2015 and 2018-2022), with a total of 333 games at Ajax, in which he scored 13 goals and lifted 11 titles -7 Leagues, 2 Cups and 2 Super Cups. from the Netherlands-.
The general director of Ajax, Edwin van der Sar, explained that they reached an agreement for the termination of Blind’s contract “in the last days”, so that he “can find another club where he can finish his successful career”. “Together with Daley, we have decided that he will be able to bid a proper farewell to the fans with a home game,” he concluded.
