Atlético trained this morning in Majadahonda with their sights set on the Cup match against Real Sociedad. In the work session, none of the four players that Atlético has injured did not train with the rest of their teammates: Savic, Griezmann, Marcos Llorente and Kondogbia. Neither will play against the Basque team. Neither will Giménez, who was sent off against Athletic in the Spanish Super Cup. Simeone dedicated the great part of the session to the technical part. First, the players were divided into several groups and carried out control exercises and shots on goal.
Simeone later led the session with the defenders while his assistants led the session with the midfielders and forwards.. Opening by band, center and shot was the work of the most offensive footballers. And finally, the Atlético coach tried out a possible eleven for the cup clash. For the game Simeone has 15 players fair due to the aforementioned casualties.
Simeone tried Oblak; Vrsaljko, Felipe, Hermoso, Lodi; Carrasco, Koke, Herrera, DePaul; Cunha and Joao Felix. In some moments of the game the system was 4-3-3, although in others it was 4-4-2. Carrasco was the player who at times occupied a more advanced position and at other times he fell further behind. For the bench, the coach will have Lecomte, Lemar, Correa and Luis Suárez.
Atlético also looks askance at next Saturday’s match against Valencia, a match that the rojiblanco team has to win in order not to see their Champions position threatened. And that is Atlético’s great goal of the season: to finish the campaign in the top four.
