The Higher Sports Council (CSD) and the British Embassy will organize this Friday, February 21 (10.30 am), a conversation about ‘female leadership in sport’, framed in ‘Ambassador for one day’, a program organized by the diplomatic organism which gives 15 young people from all over Spain between 16 and 18 years of the opportunity to be ambassadors for a day and that, this year, it seeks younger through sport.
Institutional representatives of the CSD will participate in the round table; the Paralympic cycling coach Begoña Luis; the psychologist of the High Level Athlete Attention Program (PROAD), Sandra Tabasco; and the winners of the ‘Ambassador for a day program. In addition, during this conversation they will present their proposals to improve female leadership in sport.
After the round table, a visit to the facilities of the CSD High Sports Performance Center will take place to know the impulse of equality through public policies. During the visit, the accredited media will be able to talk to some council members, representatives of the British Embass , Canary Islands, Asturias or Murcia.
This year’s theme of ‘Ambassador for a day’ is ‘the participation of young women in sport’, considering sport as an engine to empower young women and that, beyond physical health, offers benefits as a greater Self -esteem and trust.
This program is organized every year in different British embassies worldwide to actively promote the role of women in diplomacy, between women and girls of all ages. This is the third edition in which more than 200 girls have participated in Spain in a contest in which they had to record a video answering the question: ‘What would you do to foster women’s sport in your community?’
