Spanish international Cristina Ouviña will temporarily interrupt her sports career due to her pregnancy, her club Valencia Basket announced on Tuesday.
“Valencia Basket informs that its player Cristina Ouviña has informed the club that she is going to have a mother. Following the pregnancy, the point guard has decided to cease her sporting activity. Ouviña has made herself available to the club and asks that her privacy be respected in this new personal stage that she faces,” said the ‘taronja’ club.
The Valencian club has already announced that it will analyse the market in the coming weeks to “find a player who can complete the squad in this position.”
The 34-year-old from Zaragoza joined Valencia Basket in 2020 and still has one season left on her contract, this one, although she is not expected to rejoin the team this year.
