Cristiano Ronaldo: “I felt betrayed by United, I don’t respect Ten Hag”

MADRID, 14 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo released harsh criticism on television this Sunday towards his club and his coach, Erik ten Hag, for whom he assured he has “no respect” for the lack of it towards him, while noting that he felt “betrayed ” several times by the club.

The Portuguese spoke forcefully and explosively about his moment in the ‘red devils’ in an interview with TalkTV, in which he revealed the club’s attempts to get him to leave the team last year and this current campaign as well.

“Not only the coach, but also two or three other people from the club (they tried to get me out). I felt betrayed. I don’t care, people have to hear the truth. I felt betrayed and I feel that there are people who don’t want me to be here. since last year”, said the Portuguese, out of the squad this Sunday against Fulham.

The Portuguese, in his second spell at the Manchester club, captained United in the loss to Aston Villa last week, but has scored three goals this season and is far from a place in the starting eleven. Ronaldo was cut from the squad last month after refusing to take the field against Tottenham and leaving the game before the end.

“I have no respect for him (Ten Hag) because he does not show respect for me. If you do not respect me, I will never respect you,” he added in advance of an interview that will be seen on Wednesday and Thursday. The Portuguese, who is now going to the World Cup in Qatar with his team, also valued the lack of progress at United since the departure of Alex Ferguson.

“The fans must know the truth. I want the best for the club, that’s why I came. Since Ferguson left I haven’t seen any evolution in the team. Nothing has changed. If they want to change it, they need to do a lot of things differently,” he added.
