MADRID, 12 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois assured that he is at a “super-high level” of performance and confidence, something he had already achieved last season, but now he is also “accompanied by important victories” such as last Wednesday against Paris Saint -Germain in the round of 16 of the ‘Champions League’.
“I’m happy to be able to help the team win with saves. It’s my job and I feel very good. I’m at a super-high level, last year too, and now it’s accompanied by important victories,” said the Belgian international goalkeeper.
“We are leaders, passing in the Champions League, and that’s where you can see it,” added Courtois after being distinguished -by the Real Madrid fans- as the best player of the merengue team during the past month of February. In fact, in the first leg against Paris Saint-Germain he was key with his saves and by stopping a penalty from Mbappé.
“There was a great atmosphere against PSG. Especially after the 1-1; everyone believed in the comeback. It was key that the fans were behind us throughout the game. We hope to return it with other trophies at the end of the season,” he added Courtois.
