La Vuelta will once again have Correos as the official logistics operator of the Spanish tour in this 2022 edition, for the third consecutive year, following the agreement reached between the company and Unipublic, organizer of La Vuelta.
“Correos and Unipublic, the organizing company of La Vuelta, have once again reached an agreement for Correos to be the official logistics operator of La Vuelta 22,” the race announced in a statement.
In this way, for the third consecutive year, Correos is responsible for the transport of the key infrastructure of the 77th edition of the Spanish round, which will be held from August 19 to September 11, 2022, in a “real logistical challenge”.
Correos is going to move more than 400 tons of the necessary material so that the test can be held without logistical incidents in its 42 venues (21 starts and 21 finishes), including venues outside the Spanish geography such as Utrecht, in the Netherlands.
As the official logistics operator, Correos will make available to Unipublic 30 tractor units and 19 platforms that will travel 3,280 kilometers loaded with the key material necessary to hold the race.
This material also includes the mobile finish line infrastructures such as the podium, the press room (375 m2 inflatable tent, which is installed in the high mountains), signature control, anti-doping or the kitchen truck, among others . Of this material, four trailers will be used for logistics coverage of the first three stages in the Netherlands.
In addition to being the official logistics operator, Correos will be the main collaborator of La Vuelta 22, sponsoring the team classification, which rewards each day the team that leads the squad classification. A ranking that is established by adding the three best individual times of the runners of each team, being the first classified the team that adds the least time.
With this sponsorship agreement, Correos and Unipublic renew the alliance signed in 2020 by which Correos became the official logistics operator of La Vuelta.
This renewed alliance will also be visible this year in the Parque Vuelta of each stage where the Correos tent will be located where there will be a quiz with two roulette wheels and questions about Correos products with the aim of generating greater knowledge of the products, services and actions carried out by the company.
