Coach Luis García signs for the Qatar national team

MADRID, 26 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Asturian Luis García, former coach of RCD Espanyol, will be part of the coaching staff of the Qatari soccer team, led by Tintín Márquez, for the Asia Cup, which will be played from January 12 to February 10, as announced by the former soccer player in their social networks this Tuesday.

“Very happy to tell you that I will be part of the staff of the Qatar national team for the 2024 Asian Cup. Very grateful to the Federation and especially happy to share this incredible experience with the best, Tintín Márquez,” wrote the Asturian in your Instagram profile.

Espanyol fired García, 42, on November 5, after he failed to avoid relegation in the final stretch of last year and despite never leaving the promotion positions in the first third of this season.

His adventure on the bench, after retiring as a player at the end of the 2018-2019 season at Belgian club KAS Eupen, began at CF Damm, and then went to the youth ranks of Real Madrid, before signing for the Catalan team in last April. Now in the Qatari national team, he will be an assistant to Tintín Márquez, also former of RCD Espanyol between 1982 and 1988.
