The goalkeeper of Valencia Jasper Cillessen has tested positive for Covid-19 and has not traveled with the selection of Netherlands to Portugal for a friendly preparatory for the Eurocopa, confirmed to Efe a source from the Netherlands Football Federation.
The goalkeeper has no symptoms, he will be confined for the next few days and the medical team of the national team will monitor him for the disease, added the same source.
The “Clockwork Orange” players arrived in Portugal today and they will play a friendly against Scotland on June 2 at the Algarve stadium, in Faro, to prepare for the Eurocup.
The next friendly will be in the Dutch city of Enschede against Georgia, on June 6, the last meeting before the first game of the Netherlands in the Eurocup, June 13 against Ukraine.
Instead of Cillessen, coach Frank de Boer has led Portugal to Marco Bizot, the AZ Alkmaar goalkeeper.
