Only 2% to 3% of the population have both samples, so the Australian knows that the chances of developing this degenerative disease in the future are high. He has between eight and ten more possibilities, which has led him to see life in a different way, according to what he tells Vanity Fair.
However, he acknowledges that, in a way, it is positive news: “If I did not have this information, I would not have made certain changes. I am grateful that I now have the tools to prepare for what may come with regard to this topic.”
