Cheste aspires “one more year” to be the Grand Prix with the “greatest presence” of fans on the Peninsula

MADRID, 19 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Grand Prix of the Valencian Community has presented this Wednesday the official poster of the race, which will be held on November 6 and aspires “one more year” to have “the greatest presence” of fans of the five events of the Peninsula Iberian.

“We have far exceeded three quarters of the total capacity and there are still two and a half weeks to go, so we hope to be close to full again. With these data we aspire to be once again the Grand Prix with the greatest number of fans of the five that are celebrated in the Iberian Peninsula”, explained the Autonomous Secretary for Culture and Sport of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo López Camps, at the presentation of the official poster.

The poster has been made by the winner of a contest held on social networks among Circuit followers. The final poster is the one that shows three candidates for the title: Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia), Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) and Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) together with their mounts.

Also, Ximo López Camps has announced that the event “will be the last Grand Prix on this asphalt, since next summer the Circuit will be resurfaced again as we promised with the organizers of the MotoGP World Championship, the riders and the International Federation. In this way, in 2023 the Circuit will once again close the calendar with a renewed asphalt”.

He also recalled that the Circuit Ricardo Tormo has put into service for the first time a new accessible grandstand to facilitate the assistance of people with reduced mobility. And he has expressed his conviction that “initiatives like this will make it easier for Circuit Ricardo Tormo to continue receiving the Best Grand Prix Award in the entire world championship in the future”, as has happened in the last two editions.

“THE GREAT HOME PRIZE”

The pilots of the Valencian Community that participate in the world championship have participated in the presentation through the videos that they have sent from the Asian tour that they will complete next weekend in Malaysia.

The Algemesí rider Jaume Masià (KTM) has been “eager to race at home, to see all the fans in Cheste” and together with his teammate, Daniel Holgado (KTM) from Alicante, has thanked the support institution for the implementation of the Grand Prix.

For his part, the Valencian Iván Ortolá (KTM) has expressed the “excitement of fulfilling my dream of running the last race of the Moto3 World Championship, and even more so doing it at home” and Carlos Tatay (CF Moto) has invited all the fans to “come to the Grand Prix, which is special for all the Valencian riders and especially for me, who is five minutes from home, so I’m fully motivated and we’re going for it”.

The Burriana rider, Sergio García Dols (GasGas), who has been fighting for the Moto3 title until the last moment, recalled his first World Championship victory at the Circuit: “It always feels good to get home, the Grand Prix is incredible “.

With respect to the Valencian Moto2 riders, they face the last race in a very different way. Arón Canet (Kalex) has been among the best all year: “It’s my home Grand Prix, my favorite, where all the people come to see me, my family, the fans. It’s one of the funniest races of the year “.

Jorge Navarro (Kalex) will not be able to participate in this Grand Prix after the fall he suffered in the Australian Grand Prix. The rider from Pobla de Vallbona has said goodbye to the Moto2 World Championship ahead of time with a broken femur from which he is already in the process of recovering.

“I won’t be able to be at the home Grand Prix, it’s a great shame, but first things first, which is to improve my leg, feel better and better and be able to train again”, declared Navarro, who in 2023 will start a new stage in the Supersport World Championship.
