Chelsea go for Oblak and offer 100 million

Another summer, the future of Jan Oblak will be the subject of many intrigues. It is the price to pay for having one of the best goalkeepers on the planet, if not the best. According to what AS has learned from sources close to the 'blues', Chelsea has the Atlético de Madrid goalkeeper as a priority objective and will launch an offensive to get their services.

The London set would be willing to reach an amount of around 100 million euros, which would make the Slovenian the most expensive goalkeeper in history, since right now the current goalkeeper of the 'blues' occupies, the Spanish Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Precisely the former Athletic could play an important role in the operation, according to information from the British media, since, in times of crisis due to the coronavirus, Chelsea would even be willing to add him in the operation to 'make the signing cheaper'. And it is not that at Stamford Bridge they are not satisfied with the performance of a goalkeeper with a great future, but such is the interest of Frank Lampard in having Oblak that they would be willing to part with a valuable asset such as Kepa.

In any case Atlético de Madrid is not considering leaving Oblak in any way. For years, the club understands that to compete for titles in Spain and Europe, it must do everything possible to keep its best players and that is what will happen this summer also with the Slovenian goalkeeper.

Oblak renewed his contract with Atlético in April 2019. He signed until 2023 and its clause went from 100 to 120 million euros. An overwhelming amount in principle, but not far from what Chelsea would put on the table from the first moment of the negotiation.
