Charles of England says goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II with a heartfelt message: “It is the greatest sadness for me and my family”

Barely forty minutes after the official announcement of the death of His Majesty, his son and heir, charles of englandhas shared an emotional message through the official accounts of Buckingham Palace to say goodbye to Isabel II publicly: “The passing of my beloved mother, Her Majesty the Queen, is a time of deepest sadness for me and all members of my family.”

It continues: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of a beloved sovereign and a much loved mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world,” the statement read. “During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained out of respect and deep affection for the Queen.”

Charles of England signs this statement as the new sovereign: he is already king Carlos III.
