Cesc signs for Como of the Italian Serie B

MADRID, 1 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Spanish midfielder Cesc Fábregas will play for the next two seasons in Como 1907 of the Italian Serie B, his first experience in ‘calcium’ and where he hopes to be a piece that will help his new team to ascend to Serie A.

“I come here with the same ambition as always. I want to play, I want to win and take Como to Serie A. I still have a lot to do in football, I have a lot of ambition. I wanted an experience that could get me involved and excited, he has a project in the long term and it was exactly what I wanted”, Cesc underlined this Monday during his presentation.

The 35-year-old from Arenys de Mar arrives at Como from Monaco and is ready to “devote fully” these two years to his new destination, “both on and off the pitch.” In this sense, he assured that his wish was to stay “in Europe, where the level is higher”, and that is why he has not considered going to the American MLS. “I made a choice according to my needs and my emotions, each one chooses what he thinks is best for him,” he stressed.

“I knew that the team would be competitive. New signings have arrived and I consider myself a winner, I am here to give my best. The past is the past and now I just want to look to the future, I am here not only to play but also to lend a hand off the pitch”, added the Catalan, who will also be a shareholder of the club.

For his part, Dennis Wise, CEO of the Italian club, was happy to welcome a “humble and respectful” person and “a player who has done so much for football history” that he hopes will become “a part vital” of the “ambitious plans” of Como 1907. “A player of his caliber and experience is fundamental to our three-year plan to reach Serie A,” he asserted.
