CD Leganés negotiates the Butarque concession to undertake the investment of the CVC fund

MADRID, 27 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

CD Leganés negotiates with the Madrid City Council to obtain the long-term concession of the Butarque Municipal Stadium, to carry out the remodeling of the sports complex with “legal certainty”, after the financial injection in the ‘cucumber’ team that It will involve LaLiga’s agreement with the CVC fund for the LaLiga Impulso project.

According to sources from the Madrid club, the sports entity and the consistory have been negotiating for “several months” to get that concession, which they cannot confirm if it will be for 50 years, because “there is nothing closed at the moment.”

The LaLiga Impulso project requires teams to invest 75% of the money received in their facilities and, as Butarque is owned by the City Council, CD Leganés wants “legal certainty” to undertake that investment. The club’s goal is for Butarque to be still a “much better stadium,” according to a club spokesperson to Europa Press.

Thus, CD Leganés could take care of the renovation of the stadium during the period that the sports entity will have to return the CVC credit, if the concession were finally to 50 years.

The club hopes to close an agreement with the consistory as soon as possible to be able to start taking advantage of Butarque, beyond sports, with the possibility of hosting other types of events and thus renew the service and mission of this venue.
