Cavani avoided being expelled for this action with Yerri Mina

Edinson Cavani unblocked Manchester United by making it 0-1 against Everton in the League Cup. However, he could not do so if the VAR had not saved him from being sent off by pushing Yerri Mina.

The Uruguayan forward and the Colombian defender staged a scuffle during the game that ended with the defender on the ground. The ex-azulgrana went to hug the Uruguayan and he got rid of him in bad manners.

The VAR washed its hands and did not want to warn the referee about the action, which could perfectly have led to the red card for Cavani.

That did not happen and the forward scored in 88 'to pave Manchester United's way to the semi-finals of the League Cup.

“Cavani would have seen red with VAR”, sentenced Gary Lineker on the action.
