Castro comes out in defense of Monchi

The president of the Seville, Joseph
Castro, has come out in defense of Monchi, its general sports director, after he received a multitude of hurtful messages on social networks as a result of the tweet he wrote last Monday after the defeat against Athletic, in which he said he felt “proud of his team and his fans”, to the time he sent a message that could make Betis fans feel alluded to. The man from Cádiz referred to “the mediocre” denouncing that they were glad of the failures of others, such as the defeat of Sevilla that prevents him from continuing with his dream of fighting for the League.

The Sevillista top president also took advantage of the fact that Monday was just two years of a hurtful defeat at Sánchez Pizjuán against Leganés (0-3), which led to the decision to force the return of Monchi, who had just left Rome.

“How things have changed from that May 3 to May 3 … I have said it many times. Bringing Monchi back has been one of the most successful decisions of my presidency. With the best sports director in the world in our ranks, we are still homeless. Proud of this team, proud of our lion, ”Castro wrote on his Instagram account.

The message expresses the growth experienced by the entity in two years, from that defeat (with two goals from En-Nesyri) in the Caparrós era to the appointment against Ahtletic in which Lopetegui's men fought for the dream of winning the League.
