MADRID, 22 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Brazilian player Carlos Casemiro said goodbye to Real Madrid on Monday, where he is sure that “one day” he will return and that “he will continue to win because it is the identity of this club”, whom he has thanked for having trained him “as a person and as a player.
“This club will continue to win because it is the identity of this club, of this city. One day I will surely come back here to return the love that everyone has for me here and continue helping this club. I am sure that everything I have learned here will help me serve to have a great career in a great club like Manchester United”, assured the Brazilian in his official farewell ceremony.
Casemiro, who has won 18 trophies with Real Madrid, leaves as one of the most successful players in the club’s history. “I’ve won many titles and I think the biggest one I’ve had is when I go out every day to come to train. In the end, the 90 minutes are a reflection of the work we do in Valdebebas”, he explained.
The Brazilian thanked the Board of Directors, the coaches, from whom he has “learned a lot here”, and his teammates “because football is played with 25” for his time with the white team. “I can’t stop talking about two, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, who have won many things together and with them I have enjoyed football a lot,” he deepened.
“I was in Sao Paulo and Real Madrid called me and I had every hope of playing for this club, and when I left there I knew I was going to play for the first team, but first I had to play for Castilla,” Casemiro recalled.
For the midfielder, this change was “a great illusion” and highlighted having passed through the lower categories of the club. “I have learned the values of this club, the youth academy, which for me is the most beautiful thing. We are here every day, but the future is the youth academy of this club,” he remarked.
“Thanks to the club, who shaped me as a person and as a player, to the fans, who have lived magical nights together”, declared Casemiro, who also personalized his thanks in the figure of Florentino Pérez. “Thanks to you, president, this club will continue to have a bright future and present and will continue to win,” he added.
Carlos Enrique Casemiro, visibly moved at the beginning of his farewell speech, recalled that when he arrived with his wife in Madrid he did not know “anyone”. “We were going to a new country, to a club where many people did not know us and here we have built our life, our family,” he stressed.
