Carreño continues to grow in grass and reaches the semifinals

Pablo Carreño continues with his 'express' adaptation to the grass before the Wimbledon tournament and, for the moment, it does so successfully after having reached the semi-finals of the Mallorca Championships after beating Australian Jordan Thompson by a double 6-4.

The Spaniard came out very aggressive and already in the first game he managed to break Thompson's serve with a blank game. Very solid with his service, Carreño had two options to close the first set to the rest and fired another two set balls with 40-0 and served in favor before closing it to the fifth set ball.

In the second set Carreño and Thompson were very solid with their serve without conceding hardly any break opportunities until in the ninth game Carreño broke the Australian's serve to close the meeting with his serve on the first match ball he had. Carreño will look for a place in the final of the Mallorcan tournament against Russian Daniil Medvedev, first favorite for the title.

Bautista and Feliciano fall

Querrey, meanwhile, eliminated one of the favorites, the Spanish Roberto Bautistfor 6-3 and 7-6 (4) in one hour and 32 minutes of play. The American imposed his serve to achieve 25 direct points. In the match that closed the day, the Spanish Feliciano López could not add the 501st victory of his career when he fell to Frenchman Adrián Mannarino in three sets: 4-6; 6-3 and 3-6. López forced the third set against Mannarino but could not complete the comeback, despite the unconditional support he received from the fans.
