The Belgian footballer of Atlético de Madrid, Yannick Carrasco, confessed this Wednesday that “at the moment” he sees himself “doing the preseason” with the rojiblanco club, before a possible departure this summer when his contract ends in June 2024, for what he wants to be “concentrated” in his selection and in “holidays” to later decide his future.
“At the moment, I see myself doing the preseason at Atlético, I’m very happy, but you never know what can happen in football. If offers come in, we’ll discuss it with the club,” the winger said at a press conference during the concentration of the Belgian team.
The player insisted that he was not going to talk “too much” about his future, also asked about a hypothetical signing for FC Barcelona, which would have a clause to leave this summer. “I still have a year on my contract at Atlético. The market isn’t open yet. I’m still here with the national team concentrating on what I have to do and then the holidays. I’m still with my head here. You never know what can happen” he explained.
“Then it will be time to think about a transfer, a contract extension or the execution of my last year of contract in Madrid,” he said about the options that open up this summer when he only has one year left on his contract at the rojiblanco club.
