MADRID, 19 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish driver Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) has assured that they have “all the ingredients” to try to have “a good last race” this Sunday at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the last round of the Formula 1 World Cup and in which he will start fourth, in addition to stating that they have taken “a small step forward” regarding free practice.
“The important thing is that I am comfortable with the car, that I am calm. I am doing good laps, yesterday I felt good in race rhythm, so we have all the ingredients to try to have a good last race,” he told DAZN after qualifying session at Yas Marina.
In addition, the man from Madrid was satisfied with the evolution of the team this weekend. “We have taken a small step forward from free practice to ‘qualification’. In the ‘qualification’ we have already been able to fight for the position in which I think we are, the real one, which is two or three tenths behind Red Bull and playing it with Mercedes, although we have beaten Mercedes by quite a bit,” he said.
“The last attempt at Q3 was a shame, in which I had a slightly compromised lap with Lando and Fernando in front. I couldn’t do the ‘out lap’ that I wanted, otherwise it could be 24.0. It’s what it is It has been a good day for the team and I think that tomorrow we have to try to close a good weekend”, he concluded.
