MADRID, 22 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) lamented “a bit of a strange mistake” in Q2 of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, in the midst of his progression to fight for a good position in Saturday’s sprint, where he will start tenth with the “goal” to “remount”.
“A pity, the whole session went fast, even the free practice sessions in the water felt comfortable. A bit of a strange mistake, I didn’t quite understand it either because I wasn’t going to the limit or pulling the car, I knew the rain was going to come and I had to make a good lap before, but I also knew that I had a margin and did not need the last laps,” he said in statements to Dazn, collected by Europa Press.
The man from Madrid apologized to his team on the radio and felt sure the rage of a setback in Imola when he comes from a ‘0’ in Australia. All in all, Sainz had had time to make a good time in Q2, which was complicated for everyone due to the rain, to move on to Q3 although without being able to participate with the damaged car.
“A pity, I have no choice but to apologize, try to recover and at least there is still tomorrow’s sprint and the race. forward”, pointed out a recently renewed Sainz with Ferrari.
