Carlos III and Camilla and a ‘very Ascot’ dress code: top hat, pocket watch, hat and white gloves

For Carlos III and Camilla it is their first Ascot as kings. The great equestrian event has celebrated its opening day at the classic Berkshire County racecourse. A thoroughbred horse race that becomes one of the favorites of the British royals every year. It was this Tuesday, June 20.

The Windsors love horses. Ascot has paid tribute to Elizabeth II in this edition, the first to be held after the death of the sovereign. Passionate about horses and a great horsewoman, Elizabeth II and Ascot made up one of the most iconic images of the year.

On this occasion, King Charles was in charge of giving the starting signal at the well-known Berkshire racecourse.

The monarch and his wife have arrived in a carriage. The sovereign has worn an impeccable gray suit with a waistcoat, which he has completed with his top hat, a pocket watch and an umbrella. The queen, in snowy white, wore a coat-frock coat with no lapels and brocaded cuffs. Camilla, with a bag, white leather gloves and a matching hat, couldn’t be more regal and more Ascot.
