Carlos Alcaraz remains without end in Basel

MADRID, 29 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, number one in the world, was eliminated this Saturday at the Basel (Switzerland) tournament, in the ATP 500 category and played on an indoor hard court, after losing his semifinal match against the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime (6-3, 6-2).

The Murcian had no choice against the North American player, who has completely neutralized him, allowing only one break chance in the final game, and who has materialized 9 aces and has signed an 82% success rate with the first service (27 of 33) to join the fight for his fourth title of the year.

A solitary break in the eighth game was enough for Auger-Aliassime, number nine in the ATP ranking, to win the first set, and with two breaks in the second set he secured victory, the twelfth consecutive and the third in his three clashes with Alcaraz in the circuit.

Now, the Canadian will face the winner of the second semifinal between the Spanish Roberto Bautista and the Danish Holger Rune. For his part, Alcaraz will return to action in the last Masters 1,000 of the season in Paris-Bercy, before making his debut in the ATP Finals.
