Carles Tusquets: “I'm not going to kill Koeman”

The acting head of FC Barcelona, Carles Tusquets, wanted to make it clear that among his functions it is not in any case to make important decisions about the future of Ronald Koeman. Asked this Saturday by Cuatro's cameras, after the draw against Valencia (2-2) at the Camp Nou, about whether the continuity of the Dutch coach is in danger due to the irregular march of the team in LaLiga, the Chairman of the Management Company answered in an exhaustive manner: “I am not in charge of anyone.”

What's more, according to Tusquets himself, Koeman “is doing well, with great judgment and has my full support.” In fact, he went on to explain that he meets weekly with the Dutch coach, “I have gone to eat with him several times and I see him optimistic.”

The president of the Manager has already starred in various outbursts of tone in his statements that have raised more than one dust within the club. The one that was most criticized was when he recognized that “the best solution” to resolve the serious economic situation the club is going through would have been “the sale of Leo Messi this summer”, or when he assured that the Manager's absolute priority was to call elections, “as soon as possible”, but it ended up taking almost two months to announce the official date.

On several occasions, the still candidates have called him to order so that he does not exceed his duties. After closing a deferral agreement of more than 172 million in the first team squad, he is now willing to actively participate in the transfers of the winter market, with the excuse that he will summon the officially proclaimed candidates to meet with Koeman in order to agree on the reinforcements.
