Carla Suárez will become this Friday, March 18, the ambassador of the Social Action line of the Spanish Olympic Committee. After closing a successful professional career on the WTA circuit, the former World No. 6 embarks on a human project to promote the bond of sport with the most disadvantaged.
The initiative’s goal is to consolidate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1 and 2, focused on eradicating poverty and hunger in our society. With the aim of progressing in this direction, contact between charitable organizations and altruistic initiatives from professional sports will be facilitated.
The Spanish Olympic Committee, as a member of the Zero Child Poverty Country Alliance of the Government of Spainincorporates into its sustainability strategy aligned with the SDGs the line of Social Action with SDG 1 and SDG 2, of which the athlete from Gran Canaria will be the ambassador.
The event will feature, among others, the intervention of Ernesto Gasco, High Commissioner of the Government of Spain for the Alianza Poverza Infantil Cero, and Alejandro Blanco, President of the Spanish Olympic Committee, for a detailed exposition of the project.
