Fabio Cannavaro will not be the coach of Espanyol. The Italian, as AS revealed yesterday, has met this Tuesday with the parakeet board in Barcelona, for a preliminary meeting. Contacts have continued over the past two days, and a final decision was reached today.
The meeting and the talks were positive, but between the parties there were different visions about the club’s project in the short term. The casting of the Catalans, then, will continue in the coming days.
The priority of the directive was diego martinez, but the name of Paco López and, among the ideas of the former sports director Rufete, today ‘La Grada Radio’ revealed that Raúl González Blanco was included.
Cannavaro, for his part, will continue to analyze what the market offers him. After the Chinese journey, his idea is to live an adventure as a coach in Europe. The 2006 world champion has rejected proposals from MLS and Asian leagues, but he does not close the doors to any top championship on the Old Continent.
