CaixaBank and sports entities of Gran Canaria accompany Alejandro Rojas on his 'Road to Paris'

The official sponsor of the Spanish Paralympic Committee since 2019 and entity linked to the ADOP plan, CaixaBank, has organized this Wednesday the first stop of the 'Road to Paris' project, held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and with the swimmer Alejandro Rojas as the protagonist .

The territorial director of CaixaBank in the Islands, Manuel Afonso, hosted this meeting and the beginning of a route that simulates the path of the Paralympic flame. “The road is going to be long and the mark is very complicated, but I am going to go step by step and enjoy the road fighting as always until the end,” said Rojas.

The swimmer, who already participated in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, has two Paralympic diplomas in his record and was supported by representatives of the main sports entities of Gran Canaria such as the Unión Deportiva Las Palmas, the Dreamland Gran Canaria, the Federation Canaria de Deporte Adaptado, the Canary Islands Basketball Club and the Econy Gran Canaria, among others.

Thus, CaixaBank continues its support for Paralympic sport, accompanying its athletes in the final stretch of preparation for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. “Through the 'Road to Paris' project, the financial institution promotes multiple actions to provide visibility and normalize disability, raise awareness in society and bring each of these elite athletes closer to the territory,” says the official note.

The 'Road to Paris' route will stop at each of the territorial addresses into which the financial institution has divided all its activity in Spain. Thus, the initiative will run through Andalusia, the Valencian Community, Murcia, Castilla y León, Madrid, Castilla La Mancha, Extremadura, the Ebro area, North, the Balearic Islands, Barcelona and will end in July, with a last stop in the territorial direction of Catalonia.

Along the way, CaixaBank will organize different sporting, institutional and collaborative activities with around 20 athletes who are part of the ADOP plan, to convey the values ​​that the entity shares with these athletes and get the message across the entire territory and society.

Among the protagonists, along with Alejandro Rojas, CaixaBank will have the collaboration of Ricardo Ten, Nagore Folgado, Marta Fernández, Sara Andrés, Dani Stix, Luismi Marquina, the Molina brothers, Teresa Perales, Susana Rodríguez, Álex Sánchez and Nil Riudavets.
