MADRID, 16 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The director of Institutional Relations of Real Madrid, Emilio Butragueño, lamented the defeat (1-3) against FC Barcelona this Sunday in the final of the Spanish Super Cup, at the same time that he hoped to raise spirits and play ahead of a demanding schedule.
“The game did not go as we wanted. Barça took advantage of its moments. Until the 0-1 the game was even. They went 0-2 at half-time, the team tried in the second half. The team has fought until the end, but it could not be. You have to accept it,” he said in statements to Movistar Plus, collected by Europa Press.
‘El Buitre’ pointed out that Madrid must now think about Villarreal and not stop working in a season in which they are also defending the League and Champions League titles. “It’s not a night of happiness but we have to overcome it together. Football doesn’t stop. Madrid also lose games and lose finals, we have to be together and work,” he said.
“Very demanding weeks are ahead of us. We have to recover well and prepare for Thursday’s game, it’s the most important thing,” he finished, already thinking about the Copa del Rey duel against a ‘Submarino’ who beat the whites before the Super Cup.
