Burgos continues its historic streak and takes down the Alavés leader

MADRID, 8 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Burgos defeated Deportivo Alavés (3-0) this Saturday, stretching the unbeaten record of their goalkeeper Churripi on matchday nine of LaLiga SmartBank, a stumble by the leader that UD Las Palmas did not take advantage of, which did not go beyond a draw (0- 0) against Ibiza.

The Castilian team put up with the Basque team at a party in El Plantío, with thousands of visitors also arriving from Vitoria. Churripi made history in Spanish professional football with the best run without conceding a goal and Gaspar Campos made it 1-0 after the break that put the locals in a position to win.

Alavés did not get it right in an intense game, with options in both areas and ended up being thrashed by Mumo and Curro Sánchez in the last minutes. The Basque team concedes the first defeat of the course although it maintains the lead with 18 points, waiting for what Cartagena does, which has 16 and plays on Sunday against Leganés.

Shortly before, Las Palmas crashed into another wall, despite having about thirty shots. Ibiza stood firm in Gran Canaria, although Futazo had a lot of work to do, and in the first half he managed to keep the locals from being too dangerous. Jonathan Viera and Moleiro had the goal, and in the second half the yellow team gave their offensive game another gear.

Once again, the local captain had it clear, but García Pimienta’s men lacked final precision, at a point that tasted much better to Ibiza. Las Palmas is second with 17 points.

In addition, the day left the tie (1-1) between Huesca and Lugo in El Alcorzar. The game was livened up in the second half, when they turned to face the locals with a goal from Gerard Valentín. Unfortunately for Huesca, the script quickly changed with the expulsion of Florian Miguel and Lugo grew until they tied Cuéllar, which prevented the Huesca from stepping into the promotion zone.

Meanwhile, Ponferradina and Granada had to settle for a point that was worth little (0-0), with the Andalusians losing the upper hand after three days without winning. Karanka’s men left El Toralín frustrated with two goals disallowed.
