Burgos and Alavés want to continue at the top and Las Palmas and Eibar fight to continue as contenders

MADRID, 3 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Burgos CF will be in the lead for the first time this Saturday (4:15 p.m.) against a depressed Tenerife on matchday 15 of LaLiga Smartbank, chased at the top and tied on points by an enraged Alavés who will play against irregular Zaragoza this Friday (9:00 p.m.), in a weekend in which the attractive Las Palmas-Eibar and Albacete-Levante will also be experienced.

With a very solid and supportive model in the effort, without great fanfare and very effective, Burgos chained their second consecutive victory last day, a level victory (0-2) as a visitor against Las Palmas to climb to the lead thanks to their 27 points. Calero’s men savor that first place after a very positive streak, with only one defeat, five wins in the last six games and only three goals conceded so far this season.

The success of Burgos will run into a Tenerife in low hours, after linking three consecutive defeats against Leganés (2-1), Zaragoza (0-2) and Mirandés (1-0). The Canaries are seventeenth and they already see the danger zone very closely, with only one point relegation. Last season, Burgos won (1-0) in the most recent duel, while at the Heliodoro Rodríguez, the locals thrashed the Castilian-Leonese (4-0).

Alavés, second classified in LaLiga Smartbank also with 27 units after losing the lead due to their recent draw (1-1) against Racing, will receive a Real Zaragoza immersed in the irregularity. The Maños only add two wins in the last eight games, results that place them fourteenth, before traveling to Mendizorroza, where they have not won since 2006. For their part, the Basques have only lost once this season – against the now leader Burgos- and at home they are undefeated.

This new day will also leave an attractive duel between Las Palmas and Eibar. The team from Gran Canaria lengthened their slump with the defeat against Burgos, after also falling in Huesca (1-0). These have been the first two duels lost this year, which have been a slowdown in their fight for leadership. Even so, they remain in third place, just one point behind the head, although their rival, the armory team, follows their trail with 25 units thanks to their last three games without losing (2 wins and a draw). However, its potential is reduced far from Ipurua.

Also in the fight for the top positions, Albacete (21 points), ninth, will host a Levante on Sunday that does not want to drop out of the fight for direct promotion. Neither can Granada relax, who will also see the faces on Sunday against Real Oviedo, in need and in relegation places. The Sunday game will be opened by an Ibiza-Mirandés in the midst of the fight for permanence, while Málaga will trust their options to get out of the ‘well’ to the duel against Sporting de Gijón at home.
