Bordalás: “Without having started the final they already accuse us of things that are not true”

MADRID, 22 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The coach of Valencia, José Bordalás, regretted that “without having started” the final of the Copa del Rey this Saturday they have already been accused by Betis of “things that are not true” and with the aim of “trying to condition ” a match for which he is “optimistic” even though he has heard that he is not the favourite.

“It makes me very funny, without having started the game they are already accusing us of things that are not true, I don’t know for what purpose, I imagine that to try to condition and it is disrespectful and out of place,” Bordalás said in the previous press conference.

The man from Alicante assured that he has “never” done something similar “against any team” because it would be “disrespectful to the players and their fans”. “Again, disrespect is given to a hobby and to an organization that has been over a hundred years old. Valencia is the team that receives the most fouls, when we are accused of interrupting, it will be the opposite,” he added.

The coach ‘che’ believes that this final “is a very important moment for any professional”. “For me and the players it is special because we work to be able to achieve experiences of this type. A Cup final is a very nice moment that we are going to enjoy. Winning the Cup title would be something very important, not for me but to make everyone happy. a lot of people,” he said.

“In this type of situation, perhaps I am different and I think more of others than of myself. I think of the fans, of Valencia, of the relatives of the players, the players, of my family, of those who suffer, but above all for the fans because I am very responsible with them because it has impacted me to see the enthusiasm of the people and the response they are having with the team. The response of the fans has been incredible”, added Bordalás.

The Valencian coach does not hide that this Saturday “is a unique opportunity against a great team” and made it clear that he sees the team “well, motivated, eager and eager for the game to come”. “We are the youngest team in the League, but I see them as responsible and calm, you don’t need a plus because everyone is waiting for this final and I think the response is going to be good”, he pointed out.

“We know that a final is always complicated and even more so when facing Betis, which is a great team, which is having a great season and has an incredible squad. They have great fans and are practically going to play at home. I know that it is said that he is the favorite and it seems good to me, I respect him, but I don’t think about it, I focus on my team and on what I have to do to win, we are optimistic”, stressed Bordalás.

The Alicante native does not forget that this is his “first final”, but he recalled that he has already played in his career “matches of being or not being because you played a lot”. “I already have some experience in matches of this depth, even if it is another tournament,” he pointed out.

The Valencia coach knows that “anything can happen in a single game” and that his mission is “to prepare as well as possible for a game of this magnitude to try to make your team the winner”, and stressed that they have had “less time than usual be habitual” to prepare it. “I envision an incredible atmosphere. Football never ceases to surprise us and I’m sure there will be a nice game,” he wished, stating that although “you always aspire to achieve ambitious goals in a historic club like Valencia,” he added.

Finally, Bordalás confessed that he has “very good feelings” with Gabriel Paulista. “He has been working on the sidelines and on Thursday he did things with the group. We have reason to be optimistic and I think for sure that he will be in the eleven, he is a very important player”, he sentenced.
