MADRID, 3 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Valencia coach, José Bordalás, assured that he has a “huge feeling of satisfaction” after getting the ticket to the Copa del Rey final and highlighted the “perfect game” in defense that his players played to beat Athletic Club (1 -0) at Mestalla in the semifinal round.

“The truth is that I have a feeling of enormous satisfaction, incredible, we have enjoyed and we are enjoying it because it was a very nice game because of what was at stake, the atmosphere… I am very happy for the fans,” said Bordalás in a conference of press.

“After the game the boys have been celebrating, they have soaked me, they are still there with the fans celebrating, I am very happy, very happy”, said the coach ‘che’, who includes this final in the “beautiful moments” of his career . “I’ve been promoted, I almost reached the semi-finals of the Europa League like my previous team and reaching the Cup final with Valencia is incredible,” he said.

Asked about this Wednesday’s match, Bordalás stated that “fortunately at the most important moment, in a decisive match because today it was whether or not to be in the final” they played “a perfect match defensively”. “What little they have generated for us, we have solved in a very remarkable way,” he pointed out.

“In the end, these types of matches are achieved in this way. We had a great team up against us that had just eliminated Madrid and Barça and we are very happy with what we have achieved. This final has been a desire for years, with this incredible fan base , we are still listening to the songs of the 8,000-10,000 people who are out there and one always works to enjoy these moments and being in the final is something very nice that we have to enjoy”, he commented.

“And I repeat, I am very happy for the fans, who from tomorrow are going to prepare that trip to Seville, which I think the Valencian fans and the players deserve”, added Bordalás, who did not dare to differentiate any of the two games in this tie.

“The two games have been decisive, in the first leg in Bilbao, it’s a complicated field with an adverse atmosphere, with the Athletic fans cheering on their team, we played hard, we overcame their goal, we tied, we were even able to win and was decisive, but today too. It was very important to get ahead and get the win. The double away goal no longer exists and today it was about winning yes or yes. Guedes scored a real goal, we were very well structured and this It will serve to face the remainder of the championship with the utmost confidence”, he asserted.

Lastly, when asked about Gayà, replaced by Lato in the first half, the Valencia coach assured that “now he is happy” with the ticket to the final. “He was celebrating with his teammates (…) he had to ask for a change because he suffered from the injury and from tomorrow we will see the scope. And from tomorrow, to prepare for the next game. This has to serve us for the spirit and confidence of the team. I was convinced that we were going to achieve it,” he concluded.
