Biathlon and Spanish ice hockey close their participation in Gangwon

The fourth day of activity at the Winter Youth Olympic Games, which are being held in Gangwon (South Korea), this Tuesday marked the end of Spanish participation in the biathlon and ice hockey competitions.

Biathletes Rodrigo Azabal, co-flag bearer of Spain during the opening ceremony, and Cristina Lanau competed for the last time in the fourth edition of these Games. Thus, they competed in the 7.5 kilometer test, finishing Lanau in 43rd position and Azabal in 53rd.

In 3×3 ice hockey, the men's team played and lost its last games. First they lost to Kazakhstan by 4-14 and later they lost to Chinese Taipei by 4-5, defeats that were added to those of previous days against Latvia (24-5), Denmark (15-2), Poland (10-5) , Austria (3-4) and Great Britain (8-5).

In speed skating, the Spaniards faced the 1,500 meter test. The best result was that of Ona Rodríguez, who finished in 17th place; Sergio Álvarez finished in 19th place, Lucía Alapont finished 22nd and Christopher López finished 27th. Finally, in alpine skiing, María Abad placed 19th in the giant slalom.
