Benzema can with everyone

That Karim Benzema started the season in exceptional form, probably the best of his career, is no secret.. At 33 years old and after his return to the French team last summer, Benzema sports numbers that could rival those that his best dance partner in Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo, used to accumulate: 10 goals and seven assists in ten games. In the League, there are 9 goals and 7 assists in just 709 minutes, participating in a target every 44 minutes, no less.

So much so that outside the Spanish borders they already see Benzema as the best player in Europe at the moment. This is how Sky Sports sees it, specifically the statistical system patented by the British chain, the Sky Sports Power Rankings, that assesses footballers based on 35 different variables (not only goals and assists) and that, in the words of the channel itself, “gets rid of all subjectivity.”

Benzema, above Salah, Mbappé, Haaland …

Based on that statistical program, Benzema appears as the best player in the five major European leagues at the moment, with 22,881 points for him, followed by Salah (20,640), Haaland (19,164) and Mbappé (18,781). This data is based on such disparate issues as recoveries, losses, duels won, dribbles, good passes, chances created … But if it is limited only to participation in goals, that is, to goals scored or to the assists given, Benzema also rises as number one.

Benzema has participated in 16 league goals, among so many scored (9) and assisted (7); the second on the list, far away, is Haaland, with 7 goals and 3 assists, ten participations in total. Then come Salah and Wirtz, with nine participations each, and several players with eight, including Immbobile or Lewandowski.
