Belasteguín-Coello and Sánchez-Josemaría are crowned at the Estrella Damm Comunidad de Madrid Master

MADRID, 25 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Argentine Fernando Belasteguín and the Spanish Arturo Coello have been proclaimed champions of the Estrella Damm Comunidad de Madrid Master 2022, a test of the World Padel Tour, after beating Momo González and Alejandro Ruiz in the final this Sunday (6-4, 6-2) , while Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría did the same against Aranza Osoro and Victoria Iglesias (4-6, 6-2, 6-1) to become the new world number ones.

On the central court of the Caja Mágica, the Spanish-Argentine duo started 4-0 which, despite the ‘break’ with which their rivals responded, put them on the path to victory in the opening set.

They broke again at the beginning of the second set, and another break later in the set allowed them to close the match in their favor and win their second title of the year.

In the women’s final, Osoro and Iglesias managed to get ahead of the new world number ones thanks to a solitary break that gave them the first set.

Again, the couple number six in the ranking entered more successful in the second set, breaking their opponents’ serve, but they responded by winning the next five games to balance the contest.

In the final set, marked by the physical discomfort of Victoria Iglesias, Sánchez and Josemaría did not give their rivals a choice and claimed victory and their fourth consecutive tournament.
