Baskonia describes its season in the Endesa League and Cup as “disappointing”

MADRID, 16 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Baskonia’s sports director, Félix Fernández, took stock this Thursday of a season that he described as “disappointing” in the Endesa League and Copa del Rey, for which he asked to “pay more attention and concentration” in the next season, although he took his chest out “success” that meant qualifying for the Euroleague playoffs five years later.

“It has been a season with ups and downs with very sweet moments and other more bitter ones,” lamented Fernández at a breakfast with the media in the Bakh sports city, as published by the club on its website.

Fernández regretted that neither the team nor the club have been up to par, outside of the Copa del Rey and the Endesa League ‘Playoff’. “It is disappointing and leads us to make self-criticism. We must assimilate, understand and correct what has happened in the domestic competition and pay more attention and concentration next season,” said the Barça sports director.

Although he did applaud Baskonia’s performance in Europe, considering it a “success” to enter the ‘Playoff’ after five years. “The Euroleague is increasingly demanding with teams becoming more economically powerful. We have competed against the best and we have won more away games than the previous season and that balance has helped us be among the top eight,” he added.

“The communion between the team and the fans has been key to winning many games at the Buesa Arena and as a club we are very grateful for their support,” Fernández concluded about the response of the Barça fans during the season.
