Barça thrashes Rosengard again and reaches the quarterfinals of the Champions League

Paralluelo double in a great choral performance against the bottom player

MADRID, 21 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

FC Barcelona Femení beat last-place FC Rosengard 7-0 this Thursday, including a double by Salma Paralluelo in a match corresponding to matchday 4 of the group stage, and thanks to this they qualified emphatically for the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

On the pitch of the Estadi Johan Cruyff, this duel barely had any history. After a couple of dangerous approaches from Aitana Bonmatí on the right wing of the culé attack, the recent Ballon d'Or winner took center stage with two assists in just over half an hour.

First it was with a 'pipe' inside the area, in a pass that Keira Walsh took advantage of to score (15') with a shot that tripped over a rival defender. And in the 34th minute, Bonmatí herself made it 2-0 with a backheel, also in the Rosengard area, which Caroline Graham Hansen received to beat the visiting goalkeeper with a cross shot.

Between both Blaugranas, a right-footed shot by Claudia Pina from the front had crashed into the crossbar due to a save by Angel Mukasa. In fact, and despite the siege, the Swedish team's goalkeeper was at all times the most outstanding player in the visiting ranks.

Fiona Brown had also excelled somewhat in defense, crossing in a providential way to deflect Mariona Caldentey's low left footed shot almost into the six-yard box into a corner. However, Barça only gave ground before reaching the break, because in the second half they went into steamroller mode and their great reference up front was Paralluelo.

MUKASA SAVED A SCANDAL RESULT

Following a long pass from Graham Hansen, behind the center backs, the '7' culé unmarked herself until she controlled the ball in front and beat Mukasa from below (min.54). A little later, Paralluelo repeated his success by hitting the ball with his left foot and knocking down a good cross from Ona Batlle from the left wing.

The 5-0 was the work of Pina when the 73rd minute was running, with a strong low shot after a bad rebound from Brown inside the area. Immediately afterwards, Marta Torrejón pushed an easy header into the back of the net after a commotion and in the 85th minute Jessica Wik established the final 7-0 with an own goal from a corner kick, thanks to a rebound of the ball.

This very comfortable victory helped the Barça team reach 12 points, more than settled in the leadership of Group A where Eintracht Frankfurt and Benfica had previously tied (1-1). The Lisbon team is second, with seven points, while the German team has four points from its third position.
